Unterseeboot 995 was a Type VIIC/41 submarine of the Kriegsmarine. Her keel was laid down on November 25, 1942 by Blohm + Voss in Hamburg, Germany.

TANIN
Former Israel owned submarine laid up at Kiel HDW (2008/04/24) yard since some years. Supposed to be part of the new Kiel-Science Center opening in 2011. The Type 540 Gal Class submarine was built in Vickers shipyards at Barrow in Furness in England according to Israeli designs, based on Germany's HDW Type 206 submarine class, for the Israeli Navy.
Tanin - commissioned in June 1977. Sister is RAHAV (also at HDW).

New portugese Class Type U-209PN to be delivered by TKMS Kiel to portugese navy in 2010. The new submarine has a combined diesel-electric and fuel cell propulsion system. Equipped with ultra-modern sensors and an integrated Command and Weapon Control System, it is optimally suited to its future reconnaissance and surveillance tasks. The contract for the two submarines was signed in 2004 between the Portuguese State and the German Submarine Consortium (GSC).
